FAQs on NCERT Solutions For Class 8 Science Chapter 7 Conservation Of Plants And Animals in Hindi - 2025-26

1. How do the NCERT Solutions for Class 8 Science Chapter 7 help in answering questions about the differences between a wildlife sanctuary and a biosphere reserve?

The NCERT Solutions provide a structured, point-by-point comparison to answer this question correctly as per the CBSE pattern. They guide you to differentiate based on key parameters:

  • Purpose: A wildlife sanctuary primarily protects animal species in their natural habitat, whereas a biosphere reserve aims to conserve the entire biodiversity of an area, including plants, animals, and the traditional life of the local inhabitants.
  • Human Activity: The solutions clarify that human activities like grazing and collecting firewood may be allowed to a limited extent in a sanctuary, but a biosphere reserve has stricter zones with varying levels of human intervention.
  • Scope: A biosphere reserve is a much larger concept that can even include other national parks and sanctuaries within it.

2. What is the correct method provided in the NCERT Solutions to explain the consequences of deforestation?

The NCERT Solutions for the 2025-26 session advise a step-by-step method to explain the consequences of deforestation for a comprehensive answer. The key points highlighted are: an increase in global warming due to elevated carbon dioxide levels, disruption of the water cycle, increased soil erosion leading to desertification, and the loss of habitat for countless species, which threatens biodiversity.

3. Why do the NCERT Solutions for Chapter 7 emphasise listing both natural and man-made causes of deforestation in textbook answers?

The NCERT Solutions emphasise listing both types of causes to encourage a complete and well-rounded answer, which fetches full marks in exams. While man-made causes like urbanisation and agriculture are common, mentioning natural causes like forest fires and droughts demonstrates a deeper understanding of the topic. This comprehensive approach is aligned with the CBSE's expectation for detailed answers.

4. How do the NCERT Solutions for Chapter 7 help in solving exercise questions related to the Red Data Book?

The NCERT Solutions clearly define the Red Data Book as the sourcebook that maintains an international record of all endangered animals and plants. The solutions help solve related questions by providing this precise definition and explaining its purpose, which is to identify and protect species at risk of extinction. They often provide examples of species like the tiger, which are mentioned in the book, to help students illustrate their answers effectively.

5. How do the NCERT Solutions clearly distinguish between 'endangered' and 'endemic' species to prevent confusion in exams?

The NCERT Solutions prevent confusion by providing clear, distinct definitions. They explain that endangered species are those facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild (e.g., tigers, snow leopards). In contrast, endemic species are those found exclusively in a particular geographical area and nowhere else on Earth (e.g., the Sal tree and wild mango are endemic to the Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve). Understanding this difference is crucial for answering application-based questions correctly.

6. What key points do the NCERT Solutions highlight when explaining the concept of an ecosystem in Chapter 7?

When explaining the concept of an ecosystem, the NCERT Solutions guide students to include all its essential components for a complete answer. They break it down into:

  • Biotic Components: All living organisms, such as plants, animals, and microorganisms.
  • Abiotic Components: All non-living parts, including climate, soil, river deltas, and sunlight.

This structured approach helps in correctly defining an ecosystem as the interaction between all living and non-living things in an area.

7. Beyond just providing answers, how do the step-by-step NCERT Solutions for Chapter 7 help in understanding the process of desertification?

The NCERT Solutions explain desertification not just as a definition but as a process. They provide a logical flow: deforestation leads to exposed topsoil, which is then easily removed by wind and water (soil erosion). The continued removal of this fertile top layer eventually leaves behind hard, rocky land that is infertile and unable to support plant life, leading to gradual conversion into a desert. This step-by-step reasoning helps students answer 'how' and 'why' questions effectively.

8. How do the NCERT Solutions for Class 8 Science Chapter 7 explain the main objective of 'Project Tiger'?

The NCERT Solutions explain that Project Tiger was a conservation programme launched by the Government of India to protect the dwindling tiger population. The solutions clarify that its objective was not just to save the tigers themselves but to ensure the maintenance of their natural habitats. This ensured the preservation of the entire ecosystem of which the tiger is a key part, a crucial detail for a comprehensive answer.

9. Where can I find reliable, step-by-step NCERT Solutions for Class 8 Science Chapter 7 for the academic year 2025-26?

For the 2025-26 academic year, you can find detailed and expert-verified NCERT Solutions for Class 8 Science Chapter 7 on the Vedantu website and app. These solutions are crafted to provide clear, step-by-step answers for every question in the NCERT textbook, ensuring they are easy to understand and aligned with the latest CBSE guidelines.

10. How do the provided NCERT Solutions address questions about reforestation?

The NCERT Solutions address questions on reforestation by defining it as the process of restocking a destroyed forest by planting new trees. They often highlight that the newly planted trees should ideally be of the same species that were originally found in that forest. The solutions present reforestation as the most effective answer to the problem of deforestation, helping students frame conclusive and solution-oriented answers.
