Population Day Speech in English
World Population Day is celebrated worldwide on July 11 every year. This is a part of the United Nations initiative. The aim of this day is to spread awareness in the world about the increasing world population and how to prevent it. In India, the spike in the population has become a major concern lately which is why the 2018 World Population Day theme was ‘Family Planning is a human right’.
Below are a few samples of a long speech about world population day, world population day short speech, and a 10 lines speech of world population day given for every student’s reference.
Long Speech on World Population Day
Good morning to all the dignitaries and respected people present here today! We have gathered here today on the occasion of World Population Day. Our hospital has organised a campaign in order to create awareness against the dramatic growth in the world population and the factors behind it. This initiative is taken by the United Nations in order to encourage and educate the citizens of this country including population control, fertility rate, gender parity, reproductive health and various other factors.
At this hospital, we aim to spread awareness among the people in our surrounding locality related to various factors of the population such as reproductive health, gender equality, family planning, human right, population control.
Speaking of population growth, we must know that lack of knowledge about the reproductive health of both men and women is one of the reasons behind it. Poverty is another main reason behind the downfall of reproductive health. Hence today we will mainly focus on these two factors. Many areas in India still don’t have a primary health centre.
Women there do not get hold of any basic hygiene products. Many women die during the process of childbirth or due to a lack of a good health system. Men are not still very well aware of the birth control procedures to date while women have to take all the precautions, which might lead to different types of complicated disease in their body.
Keeping all these in mind, we are planning to emphasize more on birth control methods for men this year. Our representatives will visit the home in the surrounding areas to spread more awareness regarding the same. Besides, we have also planned to install a few sanitary napkin vending machines in the government schools present in our area.
World Population Day is celebrated by various community organisations, NGOs, educational institutes, hospitals, local municipalities in various ways. Different types of activities are also conducted as a part of it such as sit and draw competition, seminar, panel discussion, essay writing competition, display of slogans, charts, banners in the traffic signal and many more.
We must remember that this is highly important in India as the drastic growth in population has become a major concern in India nowadays. Hence we must take it seriously and make everyone aware of it. If each of us takes one step forward, then it would be thousands of steps together for the entire country.
Short Speech of Population Day
Below is a short speech on population day created for all the Class 4th to Class 10th students. Read it on to gain an understanding of how to write this speech easily.
Good afternoon everyone! Today we have assembled here to create awareness for population control. But why today! Today is observed as World Population Day across the globe as per the UNESCO calendar. As per the census, the overall population in the 20th century was nearly 1.6 billion people and just a century later the number increased dramatically which is 7.3 billion people. Thus as per the United Nations’ projection, the overall population around the world will be a booming 9.8 billion people. Among all the countries, India and China are the top countries with high population rates.
It is high time that these highest populated countries take proper measures to control the spike. As India is one of the countries, we must take the necessary steps to cut down such fast growth. We need to take care of reproductive health, birth control measures, sex education, basic knowledge on population control etc. Poverty and lack of education are some of the reasons which drive population growth. We are taking various measures and creating necessary set-ups to create a conducive environment for the best outcome regarding the same.
Thank you for gracing our event with your presence!
10 Lines Population Day Speech
This 10 lines speech about world population day is created keeping the Class 1 to Class 3 students in mind. Give it a read.
Good morning all the respected attendees present here!
We on behalf of the ABC Private Hospital welcome you on this occasion of World Population Day.
It is a beautiful initiative taken by UNESCO in order to make people aware of the various factors affecting the dramatic population growth.
In order to address this issue, we have assembled here to take some further steps and precautionary steps regarding the same.
As we all know that India is one of the highest populated countries in the world following China.
Hence there must be some precautionary measures taken against that if we want to avoid any kind of complicated outcomes in future.
Various factors that affect population control are poverty, reproductive health, lack of basic awareness, gender inequality, lack of family planning etc.
Every family must do family planning and follow the birth control measures in order to be a part of this population control drive.
Women must visit the nearest health centres to gain a basic idea about reproductive health and how to maintain basic hygiene.
Hope this helps you all and serves the purpose of the day. Thank you for attending the programme.
