SOF IMO Ranking & Eligibility Criteria (Who Qualifies for Next Level?)

Students can qualify for the next level through any one of these criteria:

1) Top 5% Students (Class-wise)

• The top 5% of students in each class qualify for the next level.
  
  

2) Zone/State Wise Top Rankers

• Top 25 rank holders from each class (zone/state-wise) may qualify.
  
  

3) Class Topper Rule (Minimum Participation Required)

A student can be considered a class topper if:

• At least 10 students from the class appeared, and

• The topper scores at least 50% marks

If registrations happen section-wise, class toppers can be selected section-wise based on participation.

IMO Section-Wise Priority (Used for Tie-Breaking)

If two or more students score the same total marks, SOF uses section priority to decide the rank.

Priority order (highest to lowest):

1. Achievers Section

2. Everyday Mathematics

3. Mathematical Reasoning

4. Logical Reasoning

If two or more students score equally even after section priority, they may be given the same rank.

Ranking Rules for Level 2 (If Marks Are Same)

When Level 2 exam ranks are decided and scores are tied, ranking is usually done using:

1. Marks scored in higher-priority sections (Level 2)

2. Total marks scored in Level 2

3. If still tied, Level 1 total marks and section priority may be used

4. If everything is equal, students may receive the same rank

What After the SOF IMO Level 1 Result?

• Students from Classes 3 to 12 who qualify based on SOF criteria can appear for Level 2 IMO

• There is no Level 2 exam for Classes 1 and 2
