Difference Between Class 10 Hindi Course A and Course B

Many students are unsure which course they are studying, since both appear under the same subject name. The main differences in the class 10 CBSE Hindi syllabus are given below.

Both courses carry the same total of 80 marks for the board exam and 20 marks for internal assessment, and both have identical weightage for unseen passages (14) and practical grammar (16).

Hindi Grammar Syllabus Class 10 CBSE 2026-27

The vyavaharik vyakaran section carries 16 marks in both Course A and Course B, which makes the Hindi grammar syllabus Class 10 CBSE 2026-27 one of the most scoring parts of the paper. The topics generally covered are:

• रचना के आधार पर वाक्य भेद (types of sentences based on structure)

• वाच्य (voice: कर्तृवाच्य, कर्मवाच्य, भाववाच्य)

• रस (with definitions, types and examples)

• समास and अलंकार where applicable to the course

• मुहावरे (idioms) and their correct usage in sentences

CBSE Hindi Syllabus Class 10 Exam Pattern 2026-27

Students should study the CBSE model question paper along with the syllabus, as it shows the exact number of questions and the internal choice available in each section.

Writing Skills (रचनात्मक लेखन) in the Class 10 Hindi Syllabus

The creative writing section carries 20 marks in Course A and 22 marks in Course B. It usually includes:

• अनुच्छेद लेखन (paragraph writing on a given topic)

• पत्र लेखन (formal and informal letters)

• सूचना लेखन (notice writing)

• विज्ञापन लेखन (advertisement writing)

• संदेश लेखन (message writing)

• लघु कथा लेखन or ई-मेल लेखन, as prescribed

This is the easiest section to score in, because the format carries marks. Practising two or three pieces of each type before the exam is usually enough.

• Confirm from your school whether you are appearing for Course A or Course B before you start revising.

• Cross out the deleted chapters listed above so no time is wasted on them.

• Start with grammar and writing skills, since together they carry 36 marks in Course A and 38 in Course B.

• Read each prescribed chapter once for understanding and once for important lines and questions.

• Practise unseen passages regularly, as the 14-mark apathit bodh section needs no memorisation, only comprehension speed.

• Solve previous year papers and the CBSE sample paper to get used to the question pattern.
