When a real dispute arises between two parties regarding land, they approach the boy instead of the king, and he solves the case thoughtfully. The judge-boy wins everyone’s admiration because his resolutions satisfy all.

When the news reaches the actual king, he first feels challenged and angry. On visiting the place, he is amazed by the wisdom displayed by children and is told that the judge is not always one fixed boy. It is then revealed that the "stone" is a centuries-old throne belonging to Raja Vikramaditya, known for his sense of justice. The throne is dug out, and the king eagerly wishes to sit on it to judge his people.

Encounter with the Magical Throne As the king approaches to sit on Vikramaditya’s throne, he is stopped by the statues (idols) carved into its legs. Each statue asks the king searching questions about his honesty, truthfulness, and kindness, and each time, the king admits his shortcomings. Whenever he answers, a statue flies away! This happens four times – each time he confesses a fault, he is asked to repent for three days, but each time, he finds he still falls short of the throne’s expectations.

At the end, the last statue tells the king that only those with pure, innocent hearts—like the boys—can sit on the throne. The king, despite all his riches, wisdom, and attempts at atonement, still does not qualify, and the throne, along with the last idol, flies away. This experience leaves a lesson that purity of heart and true justice cannot be claimed by position or power alone.
