Hint: This law was given by French mathematician, physicist, and philosopher Blaise Pascal. This law was given in the year 1647. This law can be stated as to when pressure is exerted in some liquid that is at rest the exerted pressure will be the same in all the directions. This law can also be stated as if we apply external pressure on any part of the liquid that is contained in a vessel It is transmitted undiminished and equally in all directions.

Complete answer:
Numerous applications use Pascal’s law. Two of them are:
Hydraulic lift
Hydraulic brake
Hydraulic lift:
In all these devices that use Pascal’s law fluid is used to distribute the pressure. The principle of this hydraulic lift is Pascal’s law. In this lift, two-piston of two different sizes that are small and large are separated by the space that is filled with water. The piston with a smaller cross-section is used to exert force on the liquid. The pressure in turn will be transmitted throughout the liquid two the larger cylinder that is attached to the piston that has a larger cross-section area. This results in the upward motion of the larger piston. This is how heavy objects are lifted easily.
Hydraulic Brake:
With our foot when we apply a little force on the pedal, the master piston will move inside the master cylinder. Now the pressure caused will be transmitted through the brake oil to act on a piston that has a larger surface area. A large force then acts on the piston and this, in turn, will push down the piston, which expands the brake shoes against the brake lining.

Note:
The principle of Pascal can also be known as the principle of transmission of fluids. Pascal law can also be applied to gases. We should note that unlike the other types of stress pressure is not a vector quantity rather it is a vector quantity. We cannot assign any direction to it. Few more applications of Pascal’s law include hydraulic press and hydraulic jack.
