2. If $X$ and $Y$ are two sets such that $\left( {X \cup Y} \right)$ has $18$ elements, $X$ has $8$ elements and $Y$ has $15$ elements. How many elements does $\left( {X \cap Y} \right)$ have?
Ans: For two sets $X$ and $Y$, using the formula $n\left( {X \cup Y} \right) = n\left( X \right) + n\left( Y \right) - n\left( {X \cap Y} \right)$ and substituting the values $n\left( X \right) = 8$, $n\left( Y \right) = 15$ and $n\left( {X \cup Y} \right) = 18$,

3. In a group of $400$ people, $250$ can speak Hindi and 200 can speak English. How many people can speak both Hindi and English?
Ans: Assume the set people who can speak English as $A$ and set of people who can speak Hindi as $B$. Therefore the set of total people is denoted by $\left( {A \cup B} \right)$. According to the question the values given are,
$n\left( {A \cup B} \right) = 400$, $n\left( B \right) = 250$ and $n\left( A \right) = 200$
Using the formula $n\left( {A \cup B} \right) = n\left( A \right) + n\left( B \right) - n\left( {A \cap B} \right)$, where the set $\left( {A \cap B} \right)$ represents the people who can speak both English and Hindi,

4. If $S$ and $T$ are two sets such that $S$ has $21$ elements, $T$ has $32$ elements and $\left( {S \cap T} \right)$ has $11$ elements. How many elements does $\left( {S \cup T} \right)$ have?
Ans: For two sets $S$ and $T$, using the formula $n\left( {S \cup T} \right) = n\left( S \right) + n\left( T \right) - n\left( {S \cap T} \right)$ and substituting the values $n\left( S \right) = 21$, $n\left( T \right) = 32$ and $n\left( {S \cap T} \right) = 11$,

5. If $X$ and $Y$ are two sets such that $X$ has $40$ elements, $\left( {X \cup Y} \right)$ has $60$ elements and $\left( {X \cap Y} \right)$ has $10$ elements. How many elements does $Y$ have?
Ans: For two sets $X$ and $Y$, using the formula $n\left( {X \cup Y} \right) = n\left( X \right) + n\left( Y \right) - n\left( {X \cap Y} \right)$ and substituting the values $n\left( X \right) = 40$, $n\left( {X \cap Y} \right) = 10$ and $n\left( {X \cup Y} \right) = 60$,
