FAQs on NCERT Solutions For Class 10 Hindi Sparsh Chapter 2 Meera Ke Pad - 2025-26

1. What is the main 'bhav' of Meera Ke Pad Class 10?

The main 'bhav' (भाव) of Meera Ke Pad is 'ananya bhakti' (अनन्य भक्ति), which is an exclusive and unwavering devotion to Lord Krishna, whom Meera considers her everything. A common misconception is that the pads are only about sadness or separation (virah).

While the pain of separation is present, it acts as a catalyst for her devotion, not its final destination. In the first pad, she appeals to Krishna as 'Hari' to end her suffering, just as he saved devotees like Draupadi and Prahlad. This showcases her faith in him as a saviour. In the second pad, she expresses a joyful desire to become his servant ('चाकर') to be near him always. This shows her devotion is not passive but an active, selfless service.

This blend of plaintive appeal and dedicated love defines her unique relationship with Krishna, moving beyond simple worship to a deeply personal connection.

The core message is that true devotion is a source of strength and ultimate liberation from worldly pains.

2. In Meera's second pad, does she only want to see Krishna?

No, Meera's primary desire in the second pad is to become Krishna's servant ('चाकरी') to be near him constantly, which includes but is not limited to just seeing him ('darshan'). The myth is that 'darshan' is the only goal. Her wish to serve allows for constant proximity, remembrance ('सुमिरन'), and a deeper connection.

3. Do NCERT Solutions for Meera Ke Pad Class 10 just provide final answers?

No, NCERT Solutions provide detailed, step-by-step explanations for every question, focusing on the meaning and literary context, not just the final answer. Students often think they are just a quick guide for homework.

These solutions are designed to teach you *how* to analyze poetry. For example, for a question about Meera's devotion from the 'Meera ke pad class 10 question and answer' section, the solution first breaks down the specific lines from the pad. It then explains the historical context and the underlying 'bhav' (emotion), and finally, structures the answer in a way that would score well in exams.

This approach helps you understand the poet's intent and develop the skill to interpret other poems, rather than just memorizing one answer.

They build analytical skills for poetry, not just provide answers to get by.

4. Is the Meera Ke Pad Class 10 PDF only for last-minute revision?

No, the Free PDF of NCERT Solutions is a powerful tool for consistent study throughout the academic year, not just for cramming before an exam. Using the PDF alongside the textbook from the beginning helps clarify difficult phrases and concepts as you learn them, building a much stronger foundation for the exams.

5. Was Meera's devotion a form of social rebellion?

Yes, Meera's devotion was a profound form of social rebellion against the strict patriarchal and royal customs ('कुल की कानि') of her time. The common belief is that her 'bhakti' was a purely personal or spiritual matter, disconnected from her social reality.

However, in the 16th century, a Rajput princess was expected to live in seclusion and worship family deities. Meera defied this by openly declaring her love for Krishna, refusing the traditional role of a widow, and seeking the company of saints ('संतन ढिग बैठि-बैठि'). She rejected societal expectations ('लोक लाज') for her spiritual freedom.

Her pads are therefore not just songs of love; they are powerful declarations of her spiritual and personal independence from oppressive norms.

Her spiritual journey was a courageous act of social defiance.

6. Are the examples Meera gives in the first pad about other gods?

No, the examples Meera gives in her first pad—Draupadi, the devotee Prahlad, and the elephant king (Airavat)—are all of Krishna's followers ('bhakts') whom he saved in times of crisis, not other gods. She cites these instances to remind Krishna of his compassionate nature and to plead for him to do the same for her.

7. Do the question answers for Meera Ke Pad replace reading the NCERT textbook?

No, the 'class 10 hindi meera ke pad question answer' solutions are created to be a companion to the NCERT textbook, not a replacement for it. A common myth is that one can score well by only studying the solutions.

The textbook provides the original 'pads' in their authentic language, which is crucial for appreciating the poetry's rhythm, emotion, and word choice. You must first read a line like "बूढ़तो गजराज राख्यो, काटी कुण्जर पीर" in the book to feel its impact. The solutions then help you decode it, explaining that 'गजराज' refers to the elephant king and 'कुण्जर पीर' means the elephant's suffering.

Using both together ensures you gain literary appreciation from the text and analytical clarity from the solutions.

Use the textbook for the original poetry and the solutions for deep analysis and exam preparation.

8. Is the language of 'Meera Ke Pad' pure modern Hindi?

No, the language used in 'Meera Ke Pad' is a rich blend of Rajasthani, Braj Bhasha, and some Gujarati; it is not pure Khadi Boli or modern Hindi. Students sometimes assume all Hindi poetry in the syllabus uses a standard form of the language. This linguistic mix is a hallmark of Bhakti-era literature.

9. Are Vedantu's NCERT solutions just for passing the exam?

No, while the solutions are structured for excellent exam performance, their primary goal is to help students build a genuine understanding of the chapter's deep literary and emotional meaning. The myth is that solutions are just a shortcut for marks without real learning.

The focus is on making you appreciate the 'bhavarth'. For example, instead of just stating that Meera wants to serve Krishna, the solutions explain the three specific benefits she anticipates from this service ('चाकरी'): she will get to see him daily ('दरसन'), she will always remember his name ('सुमिरन'), and she will receive his love as her inheritance ('जागीरी').

This detailed analysis fosters a true appreciation for the poetry, which naturally leads to writing better, more insightful answers in exams.

The solutions aim for deep understanding, which is the best strategy for scoring well.

10. Does Meera see Krishna only as a god?

No, Meera views Krishna in several deeply personal roles, not just as a distant god. She sees him as her master, her protector ('Giridhar Nagar'), and most significantly, as her one true beloved husband. This intimate and multi-faceted relationship is the essence of her 'madhurya bhakti' (devotion of love).

11. What is the 'pratipadya' of Meera Ke Pad in about 60 words?

The central theme ('pratipadya') of the first pad is a heartfelt plea to Krishna to remove the poet's worldly pains, reminding him of his role as a saviour of devotees. The second pad showcases Meera's complete surrender and expresses her joyful desire to serve Krishna eternally to always remain in his divine presence, highlighting her selfless and all-consuming devotion.

Many mistakenly believe the pads are just simple songs of praise. In reality, the first pad uses a persuasive tone, reminding Krishna of his duty to devotees like Prahlad. The second pad is a practical plan for her devotion, detailing her desire to live in Vrindavan and sing his glories. Together, the pads reveal both her vulnerability in suffering and her unwavering resolve in service.

They portray Krishna as a savior and Meera as his most dedicated servant-devotee.
