The International Cricket Council (ICC) is cricket's global governing body. In 1909, representatives from Australia, England, and South Africa formed the Imperial Cricket Conference. In 1965, it was renamed the International Cricket Conference, and in 1987, it adopted its current name. The ICC is headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Currently, the ICC has 105 member nations: 12 Full Members who participate in Test matches and 94 Associate Members. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is in charge of organising and governing cricket's main international competitions, including the Cricket World Cup and the T20 World Cup. It also appoints the umpires and referees for all sanctioned Tests, One Day Internationals, and Twenty20 Internationals. The ICC Code of Conduct establishes professional standards of conduct for international cricket, and its Anti-Corruption and Security Unit coordinates action against corruption and match-fixing (ACSU).

The ICC is not in charge of bilateral fixtures (which include all Test matches) between member countries, nor is it in charge of domestic cricket inside member countries. It does not make or change the game's rules, which have been governed by the Marylebone Cricket Club since 1788. The chairman of the board of directors is Narayanaswami Srinivasan, the former president of the BCCI, who was named the inaugural chairman of the council on June 26, 2014. Since the formation of the chairman job and other amendments to the ICC constitution in 2014, the role of ICC president has mainly become an honorary function. The so-called 'Big Three' nations of England, India, and Australia are said to have gained dominance as a result of the 2014 amendments. The most recent ICC president was Zaheer Abbas, who was appointed in June 2015 after Mustafa Kamal resigned in April 2015. When the position of ICC president was abolished in April 2016, Shashank Manohar, who had taken over from Srinivasan in October 2015, became the ICC's first independent elected chairman.

FAQs on ICC Awards 2019: Full list of Winners

1. Who became the ICC emerging player of the year 2019?

Jofra Archer was a relatively obscure commodity, but he had a reputation for being a deadly fast bowler, regardless of which franchise he played for. However, when he was rushed into the England team, especially so close to a major tournament like the World Cup, many people raised their eyebrows and expressed sympathy for David Willey. But he disproved all of the critics by putting in a spectacular performance with the ball, breaking a number of helmets in the process. He gained a reputation as a fearsome and aggressive death bowler, and he carried that reputation into the Ashes when he wreaked havoc on the Australian batters. Thanks to the ECB, cricket now has a frightening fast bowler for the next ten years who can be a complete nightmare for whatever opponent he faces.

For the young Englishman, it has been a year to remember, and he deserves all of the acclaim and renown that he currently enjoys.
