What Is A FastTag?

FasTag is a prepaid rechargeable tag that uses radio frequency identification for making highway toll payments. FasTag is either linked to your debit card/credit card or your savings account/digital payment. FasTag is normally attached to the windshield of your vehicle that enables you to cross through the toll plaza without stopping for cash transactions.

An SMS with the date, time, and place of transaction is sent to the owner of the vehicle once the vehicle passes through the toll plaza. FasTag is also vehicle specific and once it is attached to one vehicle, then it cannot be transferred to another vehicle. FasTag can be issued from any of the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) member banks. If your Fastag card is associated with your prepaid account then it should be timely recharged/topped as per the usage of the customer. Your FasTag gets blacklisted at the toll plaza if a sufficient balance is not maintained in your bank account.
