However, you need to undergo the Jharkhand Polytechnic exam conducted every year. To appear for this entrance exam, you need to know the Jharkhand polytechnic eligibility criteria. Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board conducts Polytechnic Entrance Competitive Examination for providing admission to various diploma courses in the state. The exam is conducted to fill around 11,230 seats in different colleges of Jharkhand. 

 

Though the examination form was supposed to be out on Last week of September 2022, however, the state released a notification on the official site stating that the registration would start from the 2nd week of August 2022. Other details are also mentioned in the document uploaded

 

Eligibility Criteria for Jharkhand Polytechnic 2022

Now we would move to the eligibility criteria of the exam. We have divided the criteria into several heads, such as Residential criteria, Reservation, Age Limit, Educational Qualification, etc.

 

Residential Criteria

  • The applicant needs to be a citizen of India.

  • He/She needs to be a permanent/local resident of Jharkhand.

  • The candidate can also be a ward of Central Government employees working in Jharkhand.

  • In addition, the candidate can also be a ward of an employee of the State Government or organizations operated/recognized by the State Government.

 

Age Limit

The best thing about the exam is that there is no Min or Max Age limit for the exam. However, if you wish to enroll for the Mining Engineering Branch, then the minimum age should be 17 years as on 1st July 2022.

 

Educational Qualification

AICTE has laid down educational qualifications that need to be fulfilled by the candidate.

  • Applicants must have passed the 10th or equivalent examination.

  • The candidate must have obtained at least 35% marks. 

  • A candidate appearing for 10th or equivalent examination can also apply, but he/she will have to pass before the date of Counseling.

  • Reservation Criteria for Jharkhand Polytechnic exam

 

The private, as well as government institutions of Jharkhand, need to follow the up-to-date reservation policy of the Government of Jharkhand. 

  • As already mentioned, the aspirants must be a Permanent/Local resident of Jharkhand. 

  • In addition to that, the candidate must have procured proper Local Residential Certificate & Caste Certificate issued by Govt. of Jharkhand.

1. I am having a Caste Certificate from another state, but I’m a resident of Jharkhand, am I eligible?

Yes, you are eligible to appear for the exam. As already mentioned, the aspirants must be a Permanent/Local resident of Jharkhand. In addition to that, the candidate must have procured proper Local Residential Certificate & Caste Certificate issued by Govt. of Jharkhand.

2. My age is less than 17. Can I apply for the course?

Yes, you can apply as there are no age criteria. A candidate can be of any age; the only criterion is when a student wants to pursue the Mining Engineering branch; only then you need to be 17 years old as on 1st July 2022.

3. When will the exam be held? What are the cut-off marks and how many times can a candidate apply for the Polytechnic Exam?

The government has released a notification on the official website stating that the exam would take place in the 3rd or 4th week of July, however, due to COVID-19 further postponement may happen. The cut-off marks would be notified/ released later, and there is no limit on the number of times a candidate could appear for the exam.
