Summary of Games We Play

• We play several games inside our house and outside our house.

• The games we play inside our house are called indoor games. For example, chess, snake and ladder, carrom board, table tennis, etc.

• The games we play on the ground are called outdoor games. For example, cricket, football, basketball, handball, hopscotch, kabaddi, kho-kho, etc.

• Games help us in keeping our physical and mental health balanced.

• We all have different hobbies. Some like reading books, some people like playing or listening to music, some like dancing, some people like watching television, some like playing and watching sports, and so on.

Stappoo

• Stappoo is also called hopscotch.

• There are two sisters Avantika and Nandita.

• All the children were playing Stappoo.

• Avantika was playing the game nicely.

• But Nandita was not able to play in the right way.

• So Avantika helped her in playing the right way.

• Avantika said Nandita listen to me carefully.

• She asked her to throw the thippi (marker) in the first box.

• Then told her to jump on one leg from one box to another.

• But she can put her feet down together only in the boxes marked 4-7 and 7-8.

• But she is not allowed to touch her feet to the drawn lines.

• If she touches she will be out of the game.

• When Nandita reaches the last box she has to turn around.

• While coming back she had to pick up the marker and bring it back.

• Similarly, they have to keep throwing in the next boxes.

• Chachi was watching them for a long time.

• After some time she asked can she play with them

• All the children laughed.

• Chachi said when she was their age she was also playing different types of games.

• Avantika asked her the name of the games.

• Chachi replied langry-taang, hide and seek and so many more games.

• Rajat asked how she got that much time as he did not get.

• Chachi replied you watch T.V. all the time.

• Chachi said chacha was also playing marbles, seven tiles, etc.

• Then Chachi also started playing with them.

• After some time it started raining and they had to stop the game.

• So Chachi asked them to come inside her house and play indoor games.

Chess

• Inside the house chacha and bua were playing chess.

• Chess is an indoor game.

• Two people are needed to play chess.

House-House

• They started to play house-house.

• In this game children decorate the house of a doll with different things.

• Chachi took some old clothes and made a doll for them.

• Some wanted to play ludo, and some started playing carom.

• They made a group and started playing these games.
