Hint: There are various numbers of the units as much as independent quantities. The systems of units are categorized into two types. One is fundamental units and the other is derived units. A system of unit is a collection of units in which certain units are chosen as fundamental units and all others are derived from them. C.G.S unit is one of the systems of unit. Let us see what is the unit of force in the C.G.S’s system of the unit.

Complete answer:
In the C.G.S system of the unit the unit of length is measured in centimeter (cm), the unit of mass is measured in gram (g), the unit of time is measured in second (s). The three quantities that are independent of each other is are length, mass, and time. These three quantities are required to define systems of units and they have separate units for their measurements.
Now coming to the unit of force, we first have to define what is force. Force can be defined or expressed as the product of mass and acceleration.
In the C.G.S system of the unit, the unit of mass is gram or g. The unit of acceleration is \[cm/{s^2}\]. Therefore the unit of force in the C.G.S system of unit is \[g - cm/{s^2}\]. This is also called dyne or Dyn. Therefore the unit of force in the C.G.S system of unit is dyne.

Therefore the correct option is C.

Note:
There are also other systems of unit. One of which is the M.K.S system of units and the other one is the F.P.S systems of units. In the M.K.S system of the unit, the unit of length is meter, the unit of mass is kilogram and the unit of time is second. And in the F.P.S system of the unit, the unit of length is measured in the foot, the unit of mass is measured in the pound, and the unit of time is measured in seconds. This F.P.S system of unit is not in use and the M.K.S system of unit is widely used. In the M.K.S system the unit of force is \[kg - m/{s^2}\] which is what we refer to as Newton. In the F.P.S system of the force is measured in \[lb - ft/{s^2}\] which is referred to as poundal or pdl.
