Which Topics Need More Focus for IMO Class 11?

Students should cover the complete syllabus because SOF does not publish a fixed chapter-wise weightage. However, some areas require stronger conceptual application and regular problem-solving practice:

  • Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations

  • Sequences and Series

  • Trigonometry

  • Straight Lines and Conic Sections

  • Permutations and Combinations

  • Binomial Theorem

  • Limits and Derivatives

  • Probability

  • Sets, Relations and Functions

The goal should be to understand concepts deeply rather than memorise formulas, especially for Achievers Section questions.

How to Prepare for IMO Olympiad Syllabus Class 11?

Class 11 IMO preparation should balance board-level concepts with Olympiad-style application.

  • Complete the Class 11 Maths or Applied Mathematics syllabus systematically.

  • Revise important Class 10 concepts for Level 1.

  • Practise verbal and non-verbal reasoning regularly.

  • Solve chapter-wise Olympiad MCQs after concept revision.

  • Give extra attention to Limits, Probability, P&C, Sequences and Coordinate Geometry.

  • Practise Achievers Section HOTS questions.

  • Solve previous-year IMO papers.

  • Attempt 60-minute mock tests to improve speed and accuracy.

SOF’s current Class 11 workbook includes chapter-wise MCQs, HOTS practice, explanations and the latest previous-year paper for structured preparation.
