History Behind ICC World Cup

The International Cricket Council is responsible for organising the cricket world cup once in four years. The ICC world cup is one of the most-watched sporting events in the world and also a premier contest in one-day cricket.

As of 2007, Australia was the first team, who won the ICC world cup tournament three consecutive times. Also, Australia has most successfully won the 5 world cup matches and is the only team to win a hat trick in the world cup match.

West Indies women's team and England women's team played the first Nat west T20 cricket match, which was held at Emirate Riverside Cricket Ground, Durham.

Srilanka and Pakistan are the two countries that won the world cup only once in 1996 and 1992, respectively. By that, these are the four countries from the Asian regions that won the ICC cricket world cups.  England, New Zealand and South Africa are the three strongest cricket teams in the world. But these countries did not win even the single ICC cricket world cup in the 50 over format.
