Last weekend was an unusual ambience for our school. After many years, an event for a charity was organised by the Children’s Talent Academy which has been organising talent competitions for children in various fields like dance, music, art, painting etc. The competition was named “The dancing shoes”. There were 50 participants who had to clear three rounds of the competition. There were three judges from our school faculty who had to judge the participants on their costume, presentation and dance moves. The quality of the competition was so high that the judges had a tough time in choosing the winner. Mr. Arvind Goswami, who was the winner of the competition “Dance India Dance” on the nationally television was the chief guest of the competition. He also performed a dance that mesmerised the audience. The winner was Hardik Poddar from standard tenth who performed an individual performance on a contemporary genre on the song “Vande Mataram”. His choice of patriotic song was well thought of. He also showed some acrobatic moves in the song which made his performance unique. The choice of song, his dance moves, his costume, everything complemented so well that the audience just couldn’t take their eyes off his performance. He even painted his face in the tri- color to be more presentable. The winner received a prize money of 50000 INR. The overall experience of witnessing this competition was extremely awesome. Nobody ever imagined that we have such talent among us. All the participants worked really hard on their performances and everyone was a treat to watch. But, the winner could only be one. But the chief guest was so impressed with all the participants that he told them that each one of them is a winner already in his speech. This competition was an incredible experience for each one of us.
