“Home Alone”

Samantha, is a fifteen year old teenager who lives in Berlin with her parents. Samantha is a very bright, smart, keen, and a promising young girl. Samantha excels in her studies, extra curricular activities like art and sports, loves travelling and meeting new people. On one usual Friday night, Samantha’s parents had to attend a concert in which one of their friends was performing. Since, people below the age of eighteen were not allowed in the concert, they had no option but to leave Samantha at home, alone for some time. Samantha never stayed home, all by herself ever before, but in this situation, she was fine with the idea and assured her parents that she will be fine and they can carry on with their plan. Her parents agreed, and carried on.At the same time, there was a thief from the local jail who was on a run.He was looking for a hideout and he saw Samantha’s parents leaving the house in their car. So, he took a chance to hide in their house from the police. Samantha, as promised to her parents, locked the door carefully and shut the windows properly. She then decided to watch her favourite show on the TV. As she was about to sit on the couch, the doorbell rang. She peeped through the peephole and asked who was there. The man standing at the door was none other than the thief. He replied, “Hi ! There’s a pizza delivery at your address sent by your parents to surprise you”. Samantha got excited and opened the door out of enthusiasm. But to her shock, she was taken aback to see a thief with a knife forcing himself inside and locking the door.
Samantha got threatened for a moment, but soon revived her wits. She started to run to trick the thief and take him into the basement so she could lock him up once he got inside. Fortunately , the exact thing happened. The thief followed her into the basement and as soon as he got inside, Samantha quickly ran outside and locked the door from outside. She then hurried her way upstairs and called the police. The police reacted quickly and reached her place to arrest the thief. The police informed her parents who rushed back, worried for their child. Next morning, Samantha narrated this incident to her best friend in school and told her, “Though my parents were praising me for my courage, but they were dumb shocked and decided in future not to leave me alone at home during the night”.
