Hint: After India became the Sovereign Democratic Republic, on 28th of January, 1950, the Supreme Court came into being. As the constitutional court of our country, the Supreme Court primarily takes up appeals against verdicts of the high courts of the states of the Union and other tribunals and courts.

Complete answer:
The Supreme Court of India comprises the Chief Justice and 30 other Judges who all are appointed by the President of India. Indian Supreme Court Judges retire at the age of 65 years. In order to be appointed as a Supreme Court Judge, a person must be a citizen of India and he/she must have been a Judge of a High Court or of two or more such Courts in succession, for at least five years, or for 10 years he/she must have been an Advocate of a High Court or of two or more than two Courts in succession years or he/she must be, in the opinion of the President, a distinguished jurist. Provisions exist for a High Court Judge to appoint as the Supreme Court Ad-hoc Judge and for retired Judges of the High Courts or Supreme Court to sit and act as Judges of that Court. The Constitution ensures the independence of Supreme Court Judges in various ways. A Judge of the Supreme Court cannot be removed except by an order of the President passed after an address in each House of the Parliament supported by a majority of the total members of that House and by a majority not less than two-thirds of members present and voting. And it should be presented to the President in the same Session for such removal on the ground of proved incapacity or misbehavior. A person who has been a Supreme Court Judge is debarred from practicing before any other authority or in any court of law in India.
So, the correct answer is Option A.

Note: The retirement age for the High Court judges, was 60 years. In 1963 by the Constitution’s Fifteenth Amendment act, it was increased to 62 years.
