Complete answer:
Subhash Chandra Bose was born in January 23,1897 at Cuttack, Orissa. Bose studied at Presidency College, Calcutta (Kolkata), from which he was expelled for nationalist activity in 1916 , and at the Scottish Churches College, the son of a rich and influential Bengali lawyer (graduating in 1919 ). He was then sent to the University of Cambridge in England by his parents to study for the Indian Civil Service.
Initiated by Mohandas K. Gandhi, who had made the Indian National Congress a strong peaceful body, Bose joined the non-cooperation movement. Gandhi recommended Bose to work under Chitta Ranjan Das, who was a politician in Bengal. Bose became a youth mentor, writer, and volunteer commander of the Bengal Congress there. In December 1921 , his actions led to his incarceration. Bose was exiled to Burma (Myanmar) shortly afterwards because he was accused of having ties with underground resistance movements. The more radical left-wing faction of the party was portrayed together against the more compromising, right-wing Gandhian faction. Bose was still in prison for his links with an underground militant party, the Bengal Volunteers, when the civil disobedience movement began in 1930 . Nonetheless, while in jail, he was made mayor of Calcutta. Bose was eventually permitted to proceed to Europe after he contracted tuberculosis and was discharged for ill health, released and then rearrested several times for his alleged involvement in violent activities. In 1939, when he beat a Gandhian opponent for succession, Bose's vindication came. Nonetheless, owing to the lack of Gandhi's support, the "rebel president" felt bound to resign. Hoping to unite radical elements, he formed the Forward Bloc, but was imprisoned again in July 1940. He fled from his Calcutta residence in disguise in January 26,1941 though closely watched, and finally entered Germany in April, travelling via Kabul and Moscow.
In Nazi Germany, Bose came under the tutelage of Adam von Trott zu Solz's newly formed Special Bureau for India. Beginning in January 1942, he and other Indians who had gathered in Berlin made daily transmissions from the German-sponsored Azad Hind Radio.
He assumed the leadership of the Indian Independence Movement in East Asia on July 4 and continued to establish a trained army of around 40,000 troops in Japanese-occupied Southeast Asia with Japanese assistance and control. Bose announced the creation of a temporary autonomous Indian regime, and alongside Japanese forces, his so-called Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) marched to Rangoon (Yangon) and thence overland into India, touching Indian soil on March 18, 1944 , and heading to Kohima and the Imphal plains. Bose, escaping Southeast Asia, allegedly died in a Japanese hospital in Taiwan as a result of burn burns from a plane crash a few days after Japan's declared surrender in August 1945.
Note:In 1925 , Bose was taken to jail in Mandalay for nationalist activities. In 1927 , he was released and became general secretary of the INC. He worked with Jawaharlal Nehru and both of them became the young leaders of the Congress Party, gaining prominence among the people.
