No Indian was part of the commission and this resulted in outrage against British India as there were huge demonstrations and strikes in different cities of India wherever the chairman of the commission, Simon visited. It began with the famous Dandi March where The Salt Satyagraha was initiated by Mahatma Gandhi against the salt tax imposed by the British government in India.
