Let’s write a speech based on the given format-
‘World Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection.’
Good morning, Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends. Today, I, XYZ, will present a speech on the occasion of World Earth Day. Trees are the most important and valuable resource on Earth. The functioning of life on Earth is based on the number of trees present. Humankind does not apprehend their priority and chop them off for their other benefits. Lack of trees leads to pollution of all kinds - air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, etc. Trees release oxygen in the atmosphere and absorb the harmful carbon dioxide and other toxic gases; trees remove smog from the air and filter particulate matter. A decline in the number of trees leads to a rise in the amount of air pollution.
On the other hand, water pollution is prevented because the trees help improve water quality. They act as water filters and allow water to flow down them thereby preventing the rainwater from carrying pollutants to the ocean. They also prevent noise pollution by acting as a sound barrier and reducing the frequency of noise from crowded roads, traffic or related. Trees are the natural resources that cannot be replenished instantly but almost 4 billion trees are cut down every year just to create paper. Lack of trees affects the coastal system and as everything is connected, the absence of trees leads to huge depletion of natural resources. Trees should be planted to check soil erosion. The roots of the trees bind the soil together and prevent its washing off with water during rain, floods, etc. Trees are the source of nourishment and refreshment in human life. Trees should be conserved for a better and healthier future.
Note: We need to mention our own personal comments or views while including the important details and facts of the topic as well.
