Option C – New Delhi is the capital city where the National Institute of Disaster Management is located which is the capital of India as well. This institute was established in the year 1995 when the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction made a proposal for the establishment of a national centre to look into the matters of natural disaster. It was earlier named as the National Centre of Disaster Management which was constituted by an Act of Parliament in the year 1995 under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperation.
In the year 2003 on 16th October the name was replaced by National Institute of Disaster Management and shifted to the Ministry of Home Affairs. It was inaugurated by the Home Minister of India in the year 2004 on 11th August. In the year 2006 on 9th January a new Act for the same was passed by the President of India named Disaster Management Act 2005.

2.To promote research in order to formulate policies, prevention mechanisms and mitigation measures to be taken in case of any disaster.
3.To provide it as an educational base in higher education for developing capacity building and higher learning.
4.To conduct periodical monitoring on the effective earthquakes and control disaster related policies.
