Hint:To solve this question we will have to know all the important components of an electric circuit and how it is represented in a circuit. Each circuit component might be represented by more than one type; thus, it is very important that we know all of them to solve the circuit related questions.

Complete answer:
The following diagram represents a closed switch (remember it is not a “switch”, rather it is a closed switch). This is used to represent a closed circuit and that the switch is connecting to circuit successfully.

Closed switch:A switch consists of two or more contacts and if they are touching one another then the current can pass through the switch and this is called a closed switch.
Open switch:Now if they are not touching, then the current is stopped from flowing and it is called an open switch. Thus, the circuit becomes inactive.

Now this closed switch can also be represented by a symbol of two dots connected to each other by a wire and this set-up being connected to the circuit. Thus, there are multiple representations for each electrical component and each must be known to solve questions.

Note:Please do not confuse this symbol with an AND gate operator, as the AND gate is represented with a single dot. All the circuit representatives should be practiced by drawing and it is important to draw the diagrams neat and clean. Also, after drawing the circuit diagrams, it is important that each circuit component is named.
