Hint: constitution of India is the supreme law of the land. The introductory page is also known as the preamble of the constitution states that: "We the people of India solemnly resolve to constitute India into a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic, republic".

India became independent on \[15\] August\[1947\] .We chose a democratic form of government. Indian constitution is unique in itself as we have both a Prime Minister and President. President is the head of the state elected by an electoral college after every five years. The Electoral College consists of an elected member of both the houses of the parliament, elected members of state legislative, and elected members of the legislative assemblies of Delhi and Puducherry.
Secularism means that the government will keep an equal distance from every religion, that is it will not promote or will not restrain any particular religion. The word secular was added in the constitution through the forty-second amendment \[1976\] by then prime minister India Gandhi. Hence, India has all features written in its supreme law of the land. Therefore, we call it a secular democratic republic. These are the reasons it called India a secular democratic republic.
Note: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was the chairman of the drafting committee. According to him, article $32$ right to constitutional remedy is the Heart and soul of the Indian constitution.
