Hint: The red Fort originally named Qila-I-Mubarak which means 'Blessed fort" in Delhi in the mid 17 century after he ruled for 11 years in Agra and shifted to Delhi. It served as a residence for the emperor of the Mughal lineage for 200 years.

Complete step by step answer:
Red Fort is an ancient fort also known as Lal Qila. This fort is extended over 255 acres and has a mix of architectural styles including Hindi, Islamic, Persian, and Timurid. Red fort is enclosed by 25 km long walls which are made of red sandstones and hence got its name Red fort. It is built on the embankments of the Yamuna river and this palace was designed by famous architect Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. This fort takes 8 years and 10 months to be completed. The key rooms to visit in this fort are Diwan-i-Am and Diwan-i-Khas. Diwan-i-Am has 60 red stone pillars that support a flat roof and has a big hall for a private audience used for state functions and Diwan-i-Khas is smaller with a Pavillion of white marbles used for official affairs. Most of the precious marble structure of this fort was demolished by the British during the mutiny of 1857. The main gate to the Red Fort is the Lahori gate. The gate is named so because of its direction towards the city of Lahore. The southern side of the entrance gate to the fort is Delhi Gate.

Note: The foundation of the Red Fort was laid in 1618 when emperor Shah Jahan decided to shift his capital from Agra to Shahjahanabad(Delhi). India's history is closely linked to it because the British disposed of the last Mughal ruler Bahadur Shah II here and marked the end of the 3-century Mughal rule.
