Hint: We will answer this question by first understanding what units of measurements are and also know about the system of units. We will then define fundamental units and list all the examples of the same.

Complete answer:
We need to measure a lot of things in day to day life. We measure the amount of milk we take from milkmen, we measure the vegetables while purchasing them and we also use scales to measure heights. Thus measurements are very important and also the units of measurements.

There are 3 systems of measurements:
- f.p.s system(Foot-pound system)
-c.g.s system(centimeter-gram-second)
-m.k.s system(meter-kilogram-second)
-S.I units (international system)
We generally use c.g.s and m.k.s systems more. The physical quantities are of 2 types: fundamental and derived. Fundamental quantities are the quantities which do not depend on any other quantities. They are like the basic quantities. There are 7 basic quantities we should know.

They are:
Base quantities SI units
LengthMeter (m)
MassKilogram (kg)
TemperatureKelvin (K)
Time Second (s)
CurrentAmpere (A)
Luminous intensityCandela (cd)
Amount of substanceMole (mol)

There are 2 additional units based on angles, they are the radian and steradian.
Note:Do not add any other examples except the above mentioned ones as there are certain particulars that a fundamental unit should fulfill, before being considered as a basic unit . If even one of them is unsatisfied , that particular unit is not considered as a fundamental unit.
