Why is Teachers’ day celebrated?

Teachers' Day is a special day dedicated to celebrating teachers and may include celebrations honouring them for their exceptional achievements to a certain sector or the community at large. During the nineteenth century, several nations adopted the notion of commemorating Teachers' Day; in most cases, they honour a local educator or a significant educational milestone. This is the major reason why, unlike many other International Days, countries observe this day on different dates. Since 1915, Argentina has honoured Domingo Faustino Sarmiento's death on September 11th as Teachers' Day. Since 1962, the birthday of India's second president, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (5 September), has been commemorated as Teachers' Day, and Hindus have historically marked Guru Purnima as a day to honour teachers. According to Hindu texts, creating a spiritual guru (guru) is critical; without a spiritual instructor, one cannot achieve redemption. In Adhyay 15 Shlok 1 to 4 of the Holy Gita, the identity of a real Spiritual teacher is written. In 2021, Teacher's Day was renamed "Abhar Diwas."
