The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organises two different levels of Chartered Accountancy Exams-

CA Foundation is the primary level exam and the students who have qualified it and have the required qualifications go for the secondary level exam that is CA IPCC. ICIA conducts the CA IPCC exam twice a year, in the month of May and in the month of November.

Subject-wise Weightage of Group 1 and 2 Exams
The total number of subjects in the CA IPCC exam are 7 which are further divided into two groups- Group 1 which consists of 4 subjects and Group 2 which consists of 3 subjects.
Registration and Application Fee
Candidates appearing for CA IPCC exams can register in two ways-
Foundation Way - Candidates who register for the CA Foundation exam and enter the IPCC level by qualifying for the CA Foundation exam, opt for the foundation way to register for CA IPCC.
Direct Entry Way - Candidates who wish to do for the CA IPCC exam directly without appearing for the CA Foundation exam, out the direct entry way to register for CA IPCC.

IPCC stands for Integrated Professional Competency Course.
2. What is the eligibility criteria in appearing for IPCC?
It tends to be endeavoured by any applicant who has passed the initial level (CPT) tests and the 10+2 (intermediate) assessment and has finished nine months of study or by a graduate who has scored least prescribed marks.

The following stage is to finish the direction course and pass either Group-I or both the groups of the skill assessment.
5. What are the qualifications required for CA IPCC?
A candidate appearing for CA IPCC is only eligible for the exam if he has passed (10+2) examinations from a recognized board. Students also have to go through the CA Foundation exam before applying for CA IPCC.
Students who do not want to go through the CA Foundation course, can apply directly for the CA IPCC if he/she is a graduate/post-graduate of commerce and has secured a minimum of 55%. Non-commerce students can register for the CA IPCC exam by securing a minimum of 60% in their graduation/post-graduation.
6. What is the level of the CA IPCC exam?
CA IPCC is considered to be a difficult exam since the syllabus is vast. CA IPCC requires lots of hard work if one is aiming to crack the exam. The students appearing for the exam must have a high level of understanding and conceptual clarity of all the subjects. But candidates with a good understanding of topics and concepts and ambitious minds can easily crack the exam. The only trick to do well in the CA IPCC exam is to study daily and have confidence within yourself.
7. When does the result get declared for the CA IPCC Exam?
CA IPCC is held twice a year, one in the month of May and the other in the month of November. The results are generally announced within 15 to 20 days after the exam is held.
8. What is the course duration of CA?
After the completion of class 12, it usually takes around 4.5-5 years to complete the course of Chartered Accountancy (CA). The course begins with the CA Foundation which is the primary stage of the course, then the students go for the second stage that is CA Integrated Professional Competency Course (IPCC). The student is eligible 9 months after appearing for the first stage CA Foundation for the CA IPCC. After Group 1 of CA IPCC, a student is eligible for an internship.
