Essay on My Father

Father is the male parent of a child. He is that man who heads and leads the family. He brings family into existence. In real sense he is the one who foresees the necessity of the time and brings up his family by shouldering all the responsibilities and discharging all the duties for giving a required shape. Every father wants his children to do the best at every step of life. My father too wants the same for me. Like most doting fathers, he plays a very important role in my life.

My father is my role model. I look up to him for most of the things in my life. Though we don’t speak with each other always, we understand each other very well.

My father has certain qualities that I really admire. He is a very loving, caring, gentle, hardworking and selfless person. My father is a man of strong principles. He is very strict about a few things at home like maintaining discipline and being organized. I understand why he is so strict sometimes because he wants us to have a good and secure life.

He has the ability to solve any problem. My mother too looks up to him for so many issues.

My father is forty-five years old and he is a strong built person. He really takes care of his physical fitness. Every morning without fail, he goes for his routine exercise and after that he trains his mind by doing meditation for almost one hour. He is also very particular about his diet. He doesn’t have oily and fried food and encourages us also not to indulge in unhealthy food.

He is a software engineer by qualification and works for a multinational company. He is a voracious reader. He reads good journals, literature and religious books. He keeps refreshing himself with current news from all over the world: politics, sports, movies, etc. I have observed him many times talking with his friends and colleagues; he has so much to share with them. He is a good listener too. These are some qualities that can take a person towards success.

Since the headquarters of his company is in The United States of America, he frequently needs to travel. I know he feels very sorry when he is not able to spend much time with us due to work pressure and travel but whenever he is at home he makes the best of it. He is a very jovial person and has a good sense of humor. He makes us laugh with his jokes and shares his work experience. The atmosphere in our home becomes so cheerful and joyful when he is around. It gives a feeling of a complete family.

My father has always encouraged me to chase my dreams and pursue what interests me. I have learnt that we should take lessons from our own mistakes. He believes in simple living and high thinking. He has taught the most important and valuable lesson that is to be content in life with whatever we have.

He is a very dutiful son towards his mother. He is the only son to his mother. He takes care of every small need of my grandmother. Even though she doesn’t live with us, my father carries all his duties and responsibilities for her very diligently. I feel proud to be his daughter. I want to grow like him and take care of my parents the way he does.

Conclusion

Fathers are essential figures in our lives. Father’s day is celebrated on 21st June, every year to mark fatherhood and their influence on our lives.
