Library for Kids

Traditionally, a library is a group of books used for reading or studying or the building or room where those books are kept. The word comes from the Latin ‘liber’, which means "book". The word for library in German, Russian, and Roman languages comes from the Latinized Greek word bibliotheca. Since the middle of the 20th century, libraries have grown into a wide range of information resources and services that don't even need a building. In the past, libraries were places where business, legal, historical, and religious records were kept.

Rapid changes in computer systems and other innovations have made it easier to store and access information in a variety of ways and from anywhere with a computer or a cell phone with an internet connection. People have started to use the terms "digital library" and "virtual library" to talk about large collections of information that people can get on the Internet. Various Types of Library

There are many types of library, some of them are given below.

1. Academic Libraries

Academic libraries help students, faculty, and staff at colleges and universities. Larger schools may have many libraries on their campuses, such as law & science libraries, that serve different schools.

2. Public Libraries

Public libraries serve all kinds and sizes of towns and cities. There will be a public library near you no matter where you live. As the name suggests, public libraries serve everyone. Public libraries usually have sections that focus on different services, like those for kids, teens, and adults.

3. School Libraries

School libraries have been usually part of the school system and serve students from kindergarten to grade 12. 

4. Corporate Libraries

Special libraries allow you to work in places like corporate entities, healthcare facilities, the military, art galleries, private corporations, etc. 

Uses of Library

There are multiple uses of the library. A few of them is listed below:

• Libraries are an important way to spread knowledge. Libraries help people learn and find out more. It gets people used to reading and makes them want to learn more and more. It adds to what a person has already learned and helps him grow and change as a person.

• People who can't afford expensive books and other resources to read and learn are especially in need of libraries. They are the only ones who know how valuable and important the library is.

• Libraries don't just have books and other resources; they also have librarians trained to find, organise, and understand information requirements.

• Libraries have computers where people can study alone or in groups. They also help people get online and use digital resources.

• Modern libraries offer more services by making information available through digital platforms. Librarians help people use digital resources to find information and understand what it all means.

• A library is a place where you can read in complete peace. Even though it is open to everyone, the most important rule is that people who visit the library should read quietly and not talk.

Because of this, people will probably always need libraries, which are shared, community-centred areas that allow them to find information and communicate with others. Mostly there is no individual library for kids, but there will be a special section for kids in the library.
