JEE Main 2026 Guidelines - Dress Code for Candidates

  • To ensure fairness, security, and a hassle-free experience during the JEE Main 2026 exam, the NTA has set clear dress code rules for all candidates. Make sure you follow these instructions to avoid any issues on the exam day:

  • Choose clothes made of thin fabric that are easy to move in. Avoid thick materials, large buttons, badges, or embroidery.

  • Full-sleeve or half-sleeve tops are allowed if they are not transparent. Sleeveless or see-through clothes are not permitted. But if worn, they must be lightweight and without any suspicious design.

  • Only wear slippers or flat sandals. Avoid shoes, especially those with thick soles, heels, or hidden compartments.

  • Earrings, rings, nose pins, bracelets, chains, or any metallic items are strictly not allowed inside the exam hall.

  • Smartwatches, digital watches, fitness bands, or any electronic device are completely prohibited.

  • Headgear of any kind is not allowed unless medically approved or religiously required (with prior permission).

  • Candidates may be required to wear face masks as per health and safety protocols announced at the time of the exam.

Why is This Dress Code Important?

These rules are designed to prevent unfair practices, speed up the security checks, and maintain a uniform exam environment for all candidates. Stick to basic, non-branded, and plain clothing and accessories to stay safe and stress-free on exam day.
