Hint:Cathode-ray tube also known as CRT is one of the earliest, most useful electronic equipment being used in semiconductor and electrical industry.

Complete step by step answer:
Cathode ray tube is a form of output signal screen called display screen which produces the image in the form of video signals. For example, the picture tube used in old CRT television sets composed of cathode ray tubes and it was responsible for making the images and videos on the screen. The working of CRT is based upon the movement of fast-moving electrons which strikes the photosensitive screen and helps in the production of moving images. The two main uses of cathode-ray tubes are as given below:
1) They are used in oscilloscopes which are used in physics laboratories.
2) They are also used in imaging equipment for space exploration and laboratory findings.

Additional information:
The working of CRT depends upon the movement of electrons and these electrons are produced with the help of electron guns which bombard a high beam of focused electrons on to the screen and when such electrons strike the fluorescent creates luminous screens.
The working parts of CRT are enclosed in a vacuum tube to avoid the interference of electron beams with outside undesired electromagnetic interference, this process is called shielding.

Note:Cathode ray tubes are also harmful to our health. It contains toxic materials such as lead, cadmium, barium etc. So, it is very important to dispose of CRTs very carefully.
