Chhattisgarh is a state situated in the East-Central part of the country which came into existence in the year 2000 on 1st November after the separation from the state Madhya Pradesh. It is a state rich in the production of steel and a great source of electricity for the country. It is regarded as the ninth largest state in the country and 17th populated state as well. The capital of the state is Raipur.

The state consists of several special features which give a boost to the economy of our county. It is ranked at the 17th position in the largest tea producing the state of India. It a resourceful state with the establishment of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited specializing in the power sector. The setup of the Bhilai Steel Plant makes the state a centre for steel production and has the biggest steel market. Approximately 50 per cent of total cement of the country is produced in the state and is regarded as the highest output of coal including second highest reserves in the country.

Regarding districts of Chhattisgarh, there was originally 16 district in which two new districts, i.e. Bijapur and Narayanpur were added in the year 2007 on 11th May and in the year 2012 on 1st January nine more districts were added to the list making it total to 28 districts in all.
