The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the dates for the JoSAA 2024 counselling process on June 5, 2024. Starting June 10, 2024, candidates who have passed the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 and JEE Advanced 2024 can register for counselling on the official JoSAA website (josaa.nic.in). Successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain admission to esteemed institutions like the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The JoSAA 2024 counselling process will proceed through several stages. Below are the important dates to keep in mind:
Eligible candidates must register and submit their preferences for institutes and courses. Allocation will be based on their ranks. In previous years, JoSAA counselling was jointly conducted by NIT Rourkela, but no update has been provided for this year. Candidates can register on the official JoSAA website- josaa.nic.in.

Review and lock your choices
Candidates can lock their choices, after which JoSAA will release two mock seat allocations. This helps candidates understand the allocation process before the final reconciliation, verification, and validation of allocated seats. There is also an option to withdraw or exit from the seat allocation process. Last year, six rounds of counselling were conducted by JoSAA.
The JoSAA 2024 counselling process consists of several steps to ensure candidates secure their preferred courses and institutions based on their JEE ranks and choices:
Registration and Choice Filling: Candidates must first register on the JoSAA portal and fill in their preferred choices of colleges and courses. Choices should be arranged in order of preference.
Mock Seat Allotment: JoSAA will release two mock seat allocations on June 15 and June 17 to give candidates an idea of their potential seat allocation based on current choices.
Seat Allotment: The actual seat allotment will occur in multiple rounds. The first round will be announced on June 20, followed by online reporting where candidates must confirm their seats by paying the required fees and uploading necessary documents.
By following these steps, candidates can successfully navigate the JoSAA 2024 counselling process and secure admission to their desired institutions.
