Top colleges offering B.Arch through JEE include NIT Tiruchirappalli, NIT Calicut, the Schools of Planning and Architecture in Delhi, Bhopal and Vijayawada, and several other public institutions. For most participating colleges, admission is through JEE Main Paper 2A, while IITs follow the JEE Advanced and Architecture Aptitude Test route. This list of top colleges that offer B.Arch courses through JEE will help you plan for 2027 admissions. If you are preparing for NEET 2027 and considering architecture as an alternative, remember that NEET scores do not provide admission to B.Arch.
Bachelor of Architecture is a five-year undergraduate degree covering architectural design, building construction, structures, environmental design and practical training. Choosing the correct entrance examination is your first step: B.Arch, B.Planning and B.Tech have different admission requirements.
| Admission route | Relevant examination | Selection process |
|---|---|---|
| Participating NITs, SPAs and other centrally funded institutions | JEE Main Paper 2A | B.Arch rank and JoSAA counselling; eligible vacancies through CSAB |
| IITs offering B.Arch | JEE Advanced and AAT | JEE Advanced rank, AAT qualification and JoSAA counselling |
| Institutions using separate admission systems | JEE Main Paper 2A where accepted | Separate application or counselling under institutional rules |
2027 planning note: The routes below reflect established admission practices, not a confirmed 2027 seat matrix. Check the JEE Main 2027 information bulletin, JoSAA and CSAB business rules, and each institution’s admission notice before applying. Dates, seats, fees and eligibility conditions may change.
The following shortlist includes established architecture colleges that have used JEE Main Paper 2A for admission. It is not a numerical ranking or a list of all colleges that offer architecture. Compare the course, location, total cost and counselling route before deciding your preference order.

IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee and IIT (BHU) Varanasi have offered B.Arch through the JEE Advanced route. JEE Main Paper 2A alone does not qualify you for B.Arch admission at these IITs.
Under the established system, AAT is a qualifying test and does not produce a separate admission rank. Seat allocation uses the JEE Advanced rank among eligible AAT-qualified candidates. Confirm the participating IITs and complete eligibility requirements in the JEE Advanced 2027 brochure.
Being eligible to take an entrance examination is different from being eligible for admission. Check both sets of conditions before paying application fees or building your college shortlist.
If you study PCB without Mathematics, B.Arch through the NIT+ JEE route is not an automatic backup option. PCMB students may meet the subject requirement, but must still satisfy all other eligibility conditions. NEET preparation does not cover the Mathematics, architectural aptitude and drawing preparation needed for JEE Main Paper 2A.
Before preparing for both examinations, assess your interest in design, your Mathematics foundation and your available study time. Architecture involves sustained studio work, technical learning and design presentations—not only sketching.
There is no single percentile that guarantees admission to the top B.Arch colleges in India through JEE Main. For JoSAA choices, compare your Paper 2A rank with official opening and closing ranks, rather than using B.Tech cutoffs or a generic marks-to-college estimate.
Build a balanced shortlist with ambitious, realistic and lower-cutoff options based on historical ranks. None is guaranteed. During choice filling, arrange colleges in your genuine preference order rather than placing a less-preferred college first simply because its previous cutoff was lower.
For B.Arch admission in 2027, start with the right entrance route: JEE Main Paper 2A for participating NITs, SPAs and other institutions, or JEE Advanced plus AAT for eligible IIT programmes. Use this college list as a shortlist, then verify current eligibility, counselling participation, cutoffs and total costs. If you are also preparing for NEET 2027, confirm your Mathematics eligibility and preparation capacity before treating architecture as an alternative.
